Kristin Larson - Principal
Welcome to Gardner Middle School! This is my second year as principal here and I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful team. We are so fortunate to have an exceptionally dedicated staff, as well as wonderful students and supportive families! I am passionate about assisting every student in achieving both academic and personal success as they journey through these middle school years.
I have been in education since 1991 when I began teaching. After teaching both elementary and middle school for a total of fourteen years, I decided to I would like to make a change that would enable me to touch the lives of more students. I became Assistant Principal of Paloma Elementary and Vail Elementary Schools in 2006. After two short years as Assistant Principal, I was fortunate to be promoted to Principal of Red Hawk Elementary School, where I served 2008-2011. After that, I joined GMS as Principal and I hope to be here for many years!
When I’m not at GMS, I enjoy spending time with my family and also running. In the spring of 2011, I realized a lifelong goal of running the Boston Marathon. I believe setting an example of healthy living and balanced priorities is especially important for students in this age group.
As the parent of two boys (one who will be an 6th grader at GMS this year and one who is a Freshman at GOHS), I understand the importance of school being in a place where students enjoy learning and achieving while they build positive relationships with peers and adults. That is the kind of place Gardner Middle School is! I look forward to getting to know each of you in the coming years!
