Students will research and explore how medical technology has changed the life expectancy of humans. With the information they find they have the options of creating a 2 page research paper (25 points), a display board (25 points), or both (50 points). This extra credit opportunity will count as up to 50 points going towards their assessment grade.  Project will be due May 24, 2017, no late projects accepted! Their paper and/or display board will need to include:

  • At least two specific pieces of medical technology that have been used to help prolong average life expectancy.
  • An overview of the medical technology, when it was first used, the organ system(s) it impacts and the function of the technology.
  • Student’s opinion on medical technology.
  • What the student believes medical technology will be used for in the future (next 50 years).
  • Minimum of two sources need to be cited using M.L.A. format.
  • Display board needs to include pictures or illustrations of medical technology described.
  • Display boards will need to be presented to Mr. Ward
  • Display boards will need to include the five requirements of the research paper described above
