8th Grade Information

Attention 8th Graders!

8^th Grade Promotion Requirements

- - Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better over both 1^st and 2^nd semesters.
- - Have fewer than 20 discipline points to attend the Pancake Breakfast and walk at the Promotion Ceremony.

Field Trip (Knott’s) and Special Event Requirements (8^th Grade Dance)

- - Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better over both 1^st and 2^nd semesters, with no F’s in ANY class.
- - Have fewer than 12 discipline points to go to Knott’s Berry Farm.
  - Have fewer than 14 discipline points to go to the 8^th Grade Dance.

Spring 8th Grade Events 2025

Tuesday, February 25th 8:45-1:00 pm GOHS	8th Graders visit GOHS GOHS Course Selection Learn about Clubs, Athletics, VAPA Programs, etc.
Tuesday, February 25th 4:45-7:10 pm GOHS	GOHS SPIRIT Showcase Students and parents are invited to visit academic departments, sports, organizations, and clubs offered at GOHS.
Thursday & Friday, February 27th & 28th All day during LA classes GMS - Rm 501, 711, 712	GOHS Counselors will meet with students to review Course Selection Forms. Make sure the form is filled out before this day.
Thursday, May 2nd All Day	8th Grade Knott's Berry Farm Field Trip Only students who meet the Field Trip Requirements may participate.
Friday, May 30th 6:00-8:00 pm GMS - MPR	8th Grade Dance Only students who meet the Special Event Requirements may participate.
Tuesday, June 3rd 6:00-7:00 pm GMS - MPR	8th Grade Awards Night Students who earn awards will receive an invitation
Thursday, June 5th 8:30-12:10 pm GMS - Field/MPR	8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Practice 8th Grade Activity following practice. Only students who meet the Promotion Requirements may participate.
Friday, June 6th 9:00 am GMS - Field next to Admin Building	8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Only students who meet the Promotion Requirements may participate.
